[The feed flickers, showing stone, no doubt the exterior wall surrounding the mansion. It would seem fairly ordinary, if not entirely uninteresting, except for the white stone was bordering a view of the sky with the town below. A painting maybe? But it is far too realistic. An orange rim surrounds the picture.

It worked. [The utterance is quick and soft, but there is no hiding the excitement creeping into her voice. 

She backs up several steps, showing an electric blue frame, also depicting the sky and town--albeit a different part of it. She throws a rock towards the orange frame, and the viewer might expect the picture inside to break, vanish, or simply reject the projectile. Instead, it comes flying out of the blue frame. She repeats again, aiming for the blue frame, and it flies from the orange.]

The portal gun still works.

Ah-hem!

[He clears his throat, and then waggles his fingers at the feed.]

I see you got it working!

[He is curbing his utter excitement in his voice, but he can probably be heard stuffing things into Cecile's Bric-a-Brac Box and stuffing his feet into his shoes.]

Stay where you are, don't go inside, and I'll be up in a moment!

[Fifteen minutes or so later, Lloyd approaches the exterior wall of the mansion and makes his way up to Chell. He has his hands in his pockets, and can't help but steal little glances at the glaring blue and orange portals on the wall. How could something do that...?]

Howdy!

[He stops a few feet from Chell and leans closer, grinning up at her.]

Got some moon rocks, then?

[Chell gives a shake of her head.] Not yet. I just decided to try a different surface.

[He runs his finger down the surface of the wall, close to the portals.]

Maybe if we sanded down some of the outer walls of the crofts...
